Hello boys and girls, I would like to introduce my homie SEPA from the U.K. He is a real cool dude, with a cool vibe about him, super care free. I met SEPA when I stopped by the RVCA store on Fairfax to say what up to the homies. My girl Taryn over at RVCA, introduced me to SEPA. We hit it off immediately he started sharing stories about graffiti, photography, fixed gear riding, and on and on. I did a little something in his BOOK and so did Taryn. He is a real interesting and talented dude. He has traveled all over the world documenting with his camera. Agenda Anaheim 2011

I worked the Agenda Tradeshow this past Thursday. It was awesome. The show was in Anaheim this time around. It was a nice change. I saw a bunch of homies, watched Dabs and Myla get down, ran some interesting errands, and stocked up on shwag. I didn't have as much time to look around and check out all the booths, because I was so busy, but it was a great show. I was even Snoop Dogg's appointed liason. I was running around Orange County like a mad man picking up his things. It was an interesting, fun, and tyring experience to say the least. I'm just glad I brought my dolly.

East Coast Get Away

Happy New Year y'all! So me and B. recently went to Vegas for some New Years festivities. It was a pretty crazy scene, but we kept it pretty calm. We stayed at New York New York so it was like our little east coast get away. We even watched the ball drop at the Times Square Bar. I was just glad to get away and have some time to look back on everything that has happened this past year, recharge and strategies for the next one. 2011 is going to be amazing. It was a nice start to bring in the new year. Too bad we got stuck in a snow storm on the way back. It took us 9 hours to get back, but it was definitely worth it. But now it's time to get back to work.

I don't know if it's real, or a graffiti artist trying to make some statement (which would be genius in my book), but it is definitely a harsh look into the reality of what people are capable of doing, how sad.

I stopped by The Hundreds Garfield pop up shop on Thursday and met up with the Agenda crew. I didn't expect it to be as crazy as it was. There was the longest line, and the place was jammed packed. You could barely move around, and my camera lens kept getting fogged up due to all the body heat. But I could see what all the fuss was about, it was definitely the place to be. I saw a lot of familiar faces, had a couple of drinks, and met some cool new peeps. The artists had some inventive interpretations of the Garfield character, and story which was very amusing. This is definitely one of my favorite collaborations by The Hundreds yet.
So crazy! It was like a line at Disneyland.

This weekend I helped out the crew at Known Gallery set up for the opening of Empty Promises, by Sonny Gerasimowicz. It was a great hands on experience, and gave me a lot of insight and respect for the work that goes into a gallery opening. I even shot and edited a video for the first time. Casey put me on the spot, but it turned out great. Check it out on Youtube...

Sonny has an interesting contrasting style, very rough and rugged, but also simple and nostalgic. His sketches are very different from the usual colorful, in your face pieces usually presented at Known. It's an interesting change that is definitely worth checking out.

Thanksgiving Comes Early

Well today I thought I would do something a little different. There has been a lot of great things happening in my life lately, and I thought it would be fitting to do a little pre-Thanksgiving - thanks. I also decided to go without a photo on this one straying from my usually visual style. I thought the words and content were more important on this one.
I am extremely grateful to be surrounded by such amazing people in my life. In the last couple months I have been able to meet, and now work with some amazing people. I am honored to be working with The Best of The Best of their respected industries. Whether it's working with The Agenda Tradeshow, The Seventh Letter, or now as the Production Assistant for Production Designer, Robert Pearson, I am with the best . I am able to talk to them, listen, learn, and get advice. I realize now more than ever that not a lot of people have these opportunities. I am very fortunate and grow from it everyday. These guys are the foundation of what I am trying to build, and that is one hell of a foundation if I say so myself.
I am also thankful for my family, extended family, and B. (but don't get it twisted we are all family.) The last couple of months have been an eye opener to what FAMILY and STABILITY means to me. Their unrelenting support have meant the world to me. It has not been an easy transition the last couple of months, but they have been there every step of the way, never judging, always supporting. This change, support, and consistency brought on by these people has now become my motivation, and my energy. I am lucky to have them around me. These people are what hold me together, and make me who I am.
Last of all thanks to my friends and supporters for holding me down, and being there for me. Your advice, friendship, and support shapes who I am. You guys know who you are, and I thank you all.
It has been a crazy ride since April. I have grown tremendously from my experiences. There is no turning back, I can only continue to move forward. This is just the beginning and I'm excited to see what happens next. Thank you for your support and following my blog! Stay tuned this weekend for a flash back recap of my photo assisting days. I stopped by the Battle of The Skate Shops at Podium Distribution this past Saturday, and bumped into my boy Jason from the world famous Markisa Co. They offer the highest quality in accessories and clothing. I couldn't help myself to get a little cross promotion photo op.
Markisa recently came out with their Fall/Holiday '10 line of accessories. Shit is legit!! I caught a bystander flossin' the Milli Commander Zip, so I had to snap a pic. Markisa has got sick wallets, backpacks, tees, and more. They are heavily involved in the skateboarding scene and have a really dope blog that you should follow. So myself and the rest of the posse went to the Laker parade via the Train. The train was an interesting experience. I have never been a train in L.A. before, so it was something new. I didn't realize how efficient it was. The train was packed with Laker fans. The parade was crazy, there were so many people. I will definitely be there next year. Can anyone say 3-peat!

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of experiencing Iron Maiden live at the San Manuel Amphitheater, with B and the boy's. Needless to say it was amazing. We got there early for a little tail gate action in the parking lot. We ended up getting what had to be the spot of all spots. Instead of parking in a crowded dirt lot, we ended up next to a park with a lake, and plenty of room . We threw around the football, enjoyed a couple of beers, saw a great show, and even heard some brand new songs. Not a bad night. Thanks Keith for driving!

Yesterday was quite an experience. I put a lot of work, and effort over the last couple of months into my art for this show. It was very stressful, but I had a lot of fun learning, and preparing for this event. I had a lot of good friends stop by, and show some love. I was very pleased the way my displays turned out. I think this has been a great experience for me to see where I stand, and what areas I need to work on.

It's B's birthday today! So her parents took her to Ortega 120 in Redondo Beach, the Chef was on that cooking show Hell's Kitchen" as a judge a while back. The food was pretty damn tasty, and the side salad was amazing. The place feels like Olvera st. with all the day of the dead type decoration. A must try if in Redondo Beach.

So Revok stopped by work yesterday to paint the back of the shop. To do a piece for adult star Kristina Rose. I got to check out the live painting, and talked photography with my boy Willie T. He even liked my camera. Then Kristina came to model for her website. It was an interesting experience to say the least. Even Anton Yelchin from Alpha Dog stopped by. So I am a little late on this post, but I had lunch yesterday at In n' Out. for the third day in a row. I can't believe I never tried my burger with tomatoes before. I entered this art contest for the Torrance Arts Guild (TAG) that B's co-worker told me about. I entered two pieces: "Hazzards of Work" and "Estimated 800". This was my first competition so I was super nervous, and anxious. It wasn't really my demographic or anything, but I thought it would be a good experience. To my surprise, I ended up getting an Honorable Mention ribbon for "Hazzards of Work." I was so excited that I was able to achieve such a thing. I really didn't expect it considering there were so many amazing pieces and artist. Especially being my first contest, I didn't know what to expect. All I know, is that I look forward to what lies ahead, and plan to enjoy every second of this ride. This definitely is just the beginning...

I prefer the after. But that's my opinion. Anyways, so my friend Tom told me that his company had a vacant warehouse out in Chinatown (so it's all legal). We were originally only going to take pics, but I brought my paint just in case. It was a large space, with a lot of buildings some of which are still in use. There was this beat up half pipe that he said I could paint on, so I went to town. This was the first time I painted my name in like 3 years. It was so refreshing. I definitely need to work out the technical stuff, but the idea is there, and it turned out pretty good. I wish I had more time to do a better piece, but there will be a next time. Until then...

I have been to the Redondo Beach Brew. Co. 10 times in the last two days, maybe an exaggeration, but I have been there quite a few times the last couple of days. Definitely thee shit! Can't get enough.

Redondo Beach Blonde - the first sip is always the sweetest
Shrimp and Chips - Only 5 bucks during happy hour. They have the best batter, and their herb fries are the shit. They also got this lemon pepper aoli that's really good.
Fried mushrooms - I never thought I would eat a mushroom, but I have to say these were pretty damn good. Something new everyday I guess. It was pretty good with the ranch.

New Camera - Olympus EP-L1 - 5/21

New Olympus EP-L1 is legit! New micro 4/3 technology. No view finder. Very user friendly. I was worried about there being no view finder, but it was really easy to get used to. I actually prefer this style versus the traditional D-SLR. The camera produces real crisp pictures, and comes with lots of fun pre-programmed art filters to keep things interesting (I love the pin hole filter.) You can also set set the aperture manually. It provides you the ease of a point 'n shoot, with the control of a D-SLR. Go get yours you will definitely not be disappointed.

I am so fortunate to be living in such an amazing apartment. The fresh ocean breeze, sunsets, booze, buddies, my girl, and all the perks that come with living in such an amazing place. I got a balcony that over looks the ocean...damn! Life is good.

Phil Frost has a dope style with bold & bright, with intense colors. He had a great opening with a large turnout. It's amazing what you could do with some paint and white out.

I saw an article on http://obeygiant.com/ of this mural on Baracuda LA. I decided to go check it out.
I was skating by when I saw this piece of the Seventh Letter. I took some pics, met Kellen and the rest is history in the making.
I couldn't believe it when I saw Shepard Fairey. He was posing for a photo right in front of the piece I came to see. So of course I stopped, and said what up.
Me and Shepard. He is definitely one of my inspirations. He even hooked it up with some stick's! Couldn't get any better.
